It’s actually officially Day 3 and I can tell the days are about to get really blurred here as they already are.
We flew out of Boston on Wednesday night, landed in Porto on Thursday morning, took the bus to Viana on Friday and began walking this morning from Viana de Castelo to Vila Praira de Ancora, Norte – Portugal.
It was 14 miles of walking today, but the group I was walking with (5 of us) thought it was 9 miles so it ended up being a super easy walking day because our minds were set on 9 miles.
It was only an hour after we arrived at the hotel (14 miles later) did we find out that we just walked 14 miles, and not 9 miles. lol.
I love that because it really just goes to show that everything is whatever you perceive it to be.
We thought it was going to be a super fun easy day – 9 miles – no big deal – and voila. Thinking makes it so.
Some photos below.
I love you. Tomorrow, we walk 8 kilometers through Portugal to the ferry which will take us to Spain, and then . another hour of walking in Spain.
PS: I shipped a bunch of clothes back home for 25 Euro!! Another easy thing that in the past I would have thought was complicated. I found out where the post office was – loaded up my suitcase with clothes that are not essential and managed to get them shipped back to the USA where the post office guy spoke not ONE WORD of English and I speak not ONE WORD of Portugese. And we still managed to communicate perfectly. He understand what I wanted to get done and I understand what he was saying. Exciting. He saved me 175 Euro by “telling” me that if i shipped everything it would have requited two boxes and cost me another 175 Euro – and he was alerting me to this so I could make a choice. So I took my bathing suit, a scarf and my Boston Red Sox hat out of the box and they’ll stay with me and which saved a bunch of money. (and I bet it will turn out I need that hat, scarf and bathing suit).
PPS: Just learned about AirDrop! OMG. Best thing EVER. Now I know how to load photos from my phone to my computer at SUPER FAST SPEED. Up until now, I have been sending one photo to my email, which takes 20 minutes to land in my inbox and then another 10 or more minutes to upload. Now … BAM … the photos are instantly on my computer. Technology continues to blow my mind and I learn new things ever day.
