Welcome to my brand new website! I’m happy you are here.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a website. For those of you who know me, I began blogging/writing in December 2004 when I lived in Wisconsin. I called my website “Gorgeous for God” as a reminder to myself to live in God and to put God first in everything.
I wrote almost every single day until around January 2010 when I felt it was time to take a break, or at least slow down to allow something new to emerge.
Then my website got hacked in the summer of 2010 and disappeared forever. I wasn’t even upset. It was simply a new moment. I had been practicing A Course in Miracles for almost 20 years at that point and so I knew “there are no accidents.”
So after the initial shock of losing of losing almost 5 years worth of writing, I happily let it go.
It used to be that my life was one major disappointment after major disappointment. I was constantly wishing things were different, that people acted kinder or more sane.
And one day … the aha moment! I realized: Nothing needs to change because what I think I see outside of me is nothing more than images from my own mind. I’m looking at a mirror reflection of myself – always! – and it’s already over.
Suddenly life was “just happening.” It wasn’t even happening to me. It was simply happening and I was along for the ride. This is freedom.
I didn’t want to miss a second of its beauty and grandeur, even while things shifted and fell apart.
I started to realize: WHATEVER HAPPENS, I DON’T MIND.
Life took me in a new direction. I moved back to New Hampshire to live with my dad and to be near my mom and sisters. I fell in love with Bill Free in March 2011, who I met in Boston at my friend Vicki Poppe’s house. We moved to Maine near the ocean, then two years later, Bill and I got married.
In 2012, we started a non-profit organization called the Teachers of God Foundation based on an idea that it would be fun to have a community to inspires, encourages and supports people to go through the transformation from fear to love, through using the principles of A Course in Miracles. We started with an idea and no money, and it has grown over the years to an amazing community and 5 staff members and volunteers. I’m very grateful and blown-away by the changes that have occurred.
For the past 4 years, my love, focus and energy has gone towards the Teachers of God Foundation – first with the online 40-Day Program, then Living in Purpose, our 6-Month Mastery Program for Miracle-Minded Thinking and finally to a one-year online program for the workbook lessons A Course in Miracles.
And that brings me to now. A few months ago – in August 2015 while on a cruise to Alaska – I started to feel that it was time to start writing again, in the personal intimate style that I love so much.
So I hired a web guy and he built me this beautiful website.
This is my very first blog post. I have no idea what sort of things I will write going forward but I’m happy to be surprised and to find out.
I’m especially thrilled that you are here. Thank you!
Mostly I want this to be a place of encouragement, joy and inspiration.
This is my new beginning and I encourage you to join me in your own new beginning … whatever that may be for you.
