For years, decades, I did the work.
I read every book.
I said the affirmations and spiritual truths.
I journaled.
In my mind, I was telling myself I was healed, whole, healthy, complete, one with God, one with everything and everything.
But physical experience told a different story.
My breathing was erratic.
My mouth was dry.
I felt sick, unwell, not healthy, lethargic, heavy.
I felt like a body. I didn't feel or know what it meant to be light, eternal and infinite.
Intellectually, I knew all about it.
But in truth, I had no clue.
And I kept asking myself the same question: "What's wrong with me? I'm doing the work. Why aren't things changing? What am I doing wrong? What can I do differently? What am I missing here?
Then one day, I just had enough. I was so tired of healing work. I was tired of living with constant unanswered questions. I was tired of judging myself, wishing I was healthy.
I sat quietly, wondering: What really needs healing? What's really going on here? What wants to be seen?
More questions, but it felt like openness.
Why do I have issues with expressing myself and communication? A memory of every time I was fully myself, being criticized, bullied, made fun of, told I'm wrong, told I'm a show-off.
I had been telling myself for years that I was healed and whole, but it was all at the mind-level.
Still identification as a body, afraid of being judged, afraid of being seen.
That moment was when things began to change, for real.
I realized something I've taught ever since:
Healing is recognition of Self. It doesn't come from the mind. It comes from stillness, from quiet, from openness.
Many spiritual teachings teach that that "the body reflects what the mind is doing" and so a lot of people are trying to change their mind to change the body, but this is not enough for permanent real change.
A lot of the teachings in the world are about shifting your mind, shifting timelines, changing your mind, changing your vibration, changing your frequency.
But that's not the whole story. That's not enouch
